Bypass shears for live growth, where a clean cut matters more than raw force. The upper blade is high-carbon SK5 steel with a non-stick coating, passing a hardened lower hook so the stem is sliced rather than pinched. The handles are aluminium with a moulded grip and a shock-absorbing bumper, and the sap groove keeps the pivot from gumming up. The blade is replaceable and the tension is adjustable by hand.

Wipe the blades after each session and remove sap with a little oil. Sharpen the bevel of the upper blade only. Keep the pivot lightly oiled and store closed with the lock on.
